Coming to Katy!

I have been saying for years that Katy is missing a few key things that would really make it more enjoyable. It obviously could use some more restaurants, and I don't mean in number, but rather in variety. We do not need anymore Mexican food, Chili's, or Subways. Also, Katy is in dire need of some great shopping. La Centera and Katy Mills are attempting to mitigate that, but let's face it, there is still a very large void in the shopping realm and most of us still have to head to Memorial City for the full shopping experience. Lastly, in the nightlife area, Katy has always been lacking. Sure there are a few popular smokey bars, but if that doesn't fit your mold, then you probably resort to dinner and a movie. Two wine bars have opened in the last 5 years, which has added a little more optionality, but only for those who enjoy the grape based cocktail. Now, there is good news for those who like the less sweet, brewed cocktail. No Label Brewing Company, started by Brian Royo, his wife, Jennifer, and his parents, Melanie and Gliberto Royo, will open its doors in Old Katy at the end of the year.

I found some pictures on their website, as well as the address, a map, and info on their special craft beers. I am not a beer connoisseur, but after visiting Samuel Adams in Boston, and Guinness in Ireland, I have to say this kind of stuff is pretty interesting, and I am all about adding to Katy's "Things To Do."
