Please no laughing or judging directed at my nursery creations that I finished this week because I am actually super pleased with how they turned out and just think I am way too emotionally unstable these days for any harsh criticism (crying at the cutest/saddest/weirdest things). With that being said, what on earth coerced me to create my own mobile and my own art for the nursery? No stinking clue.
There are plenty of great mobiles out there to choose from, but for some reason I really really really wanted badly to try to make one myself. I guess the comfort of knowing I could scrap it and buy one at the store if I needed to made it even that much more appealing. For whatever reason, I decided I did not want a musical mobile. Gasp. I know. I have already gotten the third degree about this from at least two people, however, I have heard from even more people why they did not/I should not get one. For the sake of not starting an unnecessary debate about a mobile (come on people), let's just leave it at- I am not getting a musical mobile right now.
And here are some construction shots:
As for the art, it really just boiled down to creating what I like, for the right amount of wall space available, in a color scheme that would match our room and at a reasonable price. It just seemed easier to create my own rather than spending days trying to hunt something down that may or may not match or even fit the space I was hoping to fill at who knows how many different stores. And it's a nursery. I know Mason will just love knowing his momma made his mobile and art- well someday, maybe? Ok scratch that. I guess I just did this for myself. : P
Here is how the art turned out:

And finally, I ordered another vinyl decal for room. It will look similar to the one below, only different colors. Hoping to get it in the mail next week, so stay tuned for pictures!
